The battery-coupled stand-alone inverters of our KI series are suitable for independent energy supply in areas where no (or no reliable) public grid is available. Using an energy buffer (i.e. battery), these stand-alone inverters convert direct current (e.g. 12V, 24V or 48V) into alternating current (230V/50 Hz or, alternatively, 110V/60 Hz). The AC current now available can be used to operate common consumers, such as radios, TV sets, or refrigerators. For many applications, this can be much more favorable than buying expensive 12V devices, which are often weak in terms of power but exhibit high energy consumption.

Due to the fact that the output voltage of the inverter is a genuine sine voltage, even sensitive devices can be operated. Good examples are energy-saving lamps, TV sets, refrigerators, SAT devices or laptops. Solutions with “modified sine voltage” (trapezoidal or triangular wave-form), or square-wave voltage may damage sensitive consumers. This is why we do not offer such devices. Our schematic diagram shows the extendable modular system of DC coupling with an external charge controller or, respectively with a charge controller integrated in the solar inverter.

KIC 2000 with integrated charge controller

In harsh operating environments (dust, humidity, rain, etc.) it is recommendable to use power supplies with true convection cooling rather than fans or blowers. Convection cooling ensures that the sensitive electronics is “encapsulated” and protected against adverse environmental effects. Our KIC is a battery-coupled stand-alone inverter that meets the requirements of protection class IP54.

Electrically isolated solar inverters made by KACO meet all the demands placed on advanced state-of-the-art inverters. Our Transformer inverters are predominantly used for thin-film modules, where they allow the grounding of the DC-minus terminal of thin-film PV generators. "We want all wishes to come true!” - With this objective in mind, R&D engineers at KACO have pursued new ideas and possible enhancements of their well-proven transformerless inverter series, Blue Planet. Therefore, the Powador series now includes redundant 3-phase monitoring and AC/DC-universal fault-current protection according to VDE standard 0126-1 (see page 19). The fact that 3-phase monitoring has been adopted in this new standard new clearly confirms KACO's philosophy : “Maximum reliability and functionality to our customers’ benefit.” Our three-phase monitoring has been adapted to the requirement of the new standard, now making it possible to use KACO inverters for multi-inverter installations without requiring any additional effort.

Powador 30000xi is based on well-known and reliable Powador technology. Using three separate MPP trackers, this large transformerless device feeds 10 kW of valuable photovoltaic current per phase into the public grid, while ensuring highest efficiency. Proven KACO product features, such as user-friendliness, longevity, efficiency and innovative technology also perfectly apply to this solar inverter. As far as its DC input voltage is concerned it is compatible with single-phase transformerless Powador devices, thus making project planning easy and flexible.

Its new cooling concept with the electronics in a protected area, makes this inverter type suitable even for harsh environments.
