KACOCALC Pro

KACOCALC Pro is a free, award-winning program designed for the professional design and simulated creation of photovoltaic systems. Using the radiation data based on average values for ten years, data from several hundred types of modules, and all KACO inverters, we are well placed to offer you the optimal system design.

With the various functions of this program, you can plan the design of your entire PV system, either using the data of the modules already included in the program or data that you include by yourself. In addition, you also have the chance to gauge dimensions for the AC and DC cables, including the calculated loss for single and three-phase grid-tied systems as well as forecasting the anticipated production statistics.

The program is available in German, English, Spanish, Italian, Czech and French. It runs on Microsoft Windows.

PV System Design
Based on the module type and the number of modules you can find out which KACO inverters are best suited for your system. Consideration is made of the performance of the module in comparison to the inverter output, the MPP voltage with high module temperatures, the no-load voltage with low temperatures, as well as the system voltage of the modules.

Yield
The average yearly insolation for representative locations is included. Along with the insolation, the arrangement and installation angle of the modules are accounted for to calculate a projected yield. The projected yield is a conservative estimate, which is likely to be exceeded during actual operation.

Inverter Design
For larger quantities of a specific module type, the program tells you how many modules and strings you can connect to each single inverter.

Cable Loss Calculation
The cable loss calculation is divided up into three subgroups: DC cable loss, AC cable loss and AC three-phase cable loss. This function allows you to calculate the cable losses individually. For cable losses on the DC side, generator junction boxes can also be taken into consideration.

PV Modules
All current PV modules are already included in a list that is kept fully up to date. Should your module not be included in the list, you can use an entry form to easily add new modules. These user-defined modules remain present with subsequent updates.

POWADOR-monitor

Powador-monitor is an item of PC software for local evaluation of the measured values that are recorded by the Powador-proLOG data logger. The data is transmitted to the computer by modem or Ethernet. The data can be imported using a Compact Flash Card. You can choose different display types. Archiving is also possible allowing you to have visual control of the inverter values over long periods of time.

KACO-viso

The measured data that an inverter automatically records can be graphically displayed on a PC using the KACO-viso software. There are two versions available: Version 1 is designed for use with the Powador-link RS232. This radio module transmits the data to the PC. Alternatively, data can be transmitted directly to the computer using a 1:1 interface cable or a USB cable. Version 2 is designed for use with the Powador-miniLOG. It stores the measured data on a SD card.

Powador-web

Powador-web is an Internet portal that allows for a comprehensive evaluation and visualisation of photovoltaic installations together with the Powador-proLOG. Access is possible from anywhere in the world via the Internet. Access is password protected. The data displayed depends on the configuration of the data logger. Options cover the energy production over various time periods and for different partial installations including a target/actual comparison of the values of individual inverters such as current, voltage, power at the input and output, module temperature and solar irradiation. Furthermore, alarm conditions and the type of messages can be configured and organised. Data tables can be generated over a longer time period using the report function. Powador-web diagrams can be included on your own website for a one-off charge.

You can register your PV plant at any time by simply filling in a form.

Powador-web iPhone Application

Do you own an iPhone and do you carry it always with you? And you want to know the yield of your PV plant? With the Powador-web app you have access to all current data of your Powador inverter. What you have to do is download the application onto your iPhone. With your access data you can log-in and get all the information like energy yield or particular data like current, voltage, power rating at the in- and output and many more.

DSL-Postbox

The Powador-proLOG with network connection (Ethernet 10/100 Mbit) is equipped with a special DSL function: the DSL postbox. This requires a DSL connection and access to Powador-web. The DSL connection makes it possible for Powador-web to assign tasks to the Powador-proLOG in a private local area network (LAN). You can use this function to retrieve missing data (for example). This provides for bidirectional communication between Powador-web and the Powador-proLOG, which would normally be prevented when using DSL because of safety measures (e.g. a firewall). The DSL postbox also updates the measured data in Powador-web every hour.
